🥄The Stir ✨ aries szn

Your weekly dose of practical astrology for real life
Brew #74

We've exited the amniotic waters of Pisces season only to be dropped down into the battlements of Aries season.

Like a baby giraffe falling, what, like...8 feet when they're born?

Except you've been plopped into the hidden encampment of a war party the night before a major battle.

The air is palpable with nervous energy and tang of iron as soldiers spend the last of their downtime reinforcing armor and preparing for the siege. ⚔️

The whiplash is disorienting but what I love about Aries season is that there's no room for second guessing.

There's not time to think oh my god, what am I doing?! I'm not ready for this! There's only time to get the deets: why are we here, who are we taking down, and how can I help?

And then you do! You roar into battle because right now, there is no other choice. Whether you're a lover or a fighter, Aries season is going to ask you to fight.

That's going to look different for each of us.

But my intention is that by giving you a bit of context and a heads up, you'll actually be able to navigate this season with a bit more clarity and emerge with a sense of pride (and maybe even a few wins).

Practical Astrology Tip

We talked about this before (here, if you need the reference), but each zodiac is ruled by a planet. That planetary ruler acts as a guardian of the major themes and energy that particular sign brings.

Aries is ruled by Mars, aka the god of war.

In the greco-roman pantheon, the god of war is
not a strategist. 🙅‍♀️ This is a common misconception.

He is not pulling the strings of Fate or considering the bigger moves. It would be more accurate to depict him as the god of battle, the
heat of battle more specifically, lost to the passion of the moment.

Mars might not be strategizing about how to
win the war per se, but he's adept at assessing a situation in a millisecond, then throwing himself into it and winning by sheer willpower alone.

Actually, you know who gives off hella Aries energy?

Spiderman.

With the spidey sense for impending doom, his headstrong nature (
act first, deal with consequences later), and his split-second decision making -- that's all classic Aries energy.

You can get a spidey sense about what battle is popping up for you and how you can best show up
prepared to win it by looking at what house Aries is in for you.

And just so we're clear, no matter your temperament, finding the house that Aries charges up for you will help you go from:

😨 "It's about go down" to 😎 "it's about to go down"

Where Aries Falls in Your Chart =
Where the Battle is Happening

(and how to be prepared for it)

1st House (Self, Identity, Persona):
🔥 The war is personal. This season, you're fighting for you—who you are, how you show up, and what you’re no longer willing to tolerate. This is a main character moment if there ever was one. Suit up.

2nd House (Money, Resources, Self-Worth):
💰 Your value is under siege. Are you playing small in how you ask for or receive money? Are you giving more than you're getting? Aries here means it’s time to demand your worth—whether that’s a raise, a rate increase, or just stopping the cycle of undervaluing yourself.

3rd House (Communication, Learning, Everyday Life):
🗣️ War of words. This season is about speaking up and speaking first. Whether it’s standing your ground in an argument or finally writing that thing you’ve been thinking about for ages—your voice is a weapon. Wield it.

4th House (Home, Family, Emotional Foundations):
🏡 Old battles, home turf. Tensions at home? Family patterns resurfacing? Aries in the 4th means setting (or reinforcing) boundaries so you’re not constantly at war in your own sanctuary. Maybe you need to reclaim space, move furniture, or just take a break from the chaos.

5th House (Creativity, Romance, Pleasure):
🎭 The fight for joy. If life has felt dull, Aries here reignites your passion—whether that’s in art, love, or fun. It’s about pursuing what sets your soul on fire without hesitation. Go ahead, be bold, be messy, be fully you.

6th House (Work, Health, Daily Routines):
💪 Discipline is the battlefield. Aries here wants you to fight for better habits—not by overhauling everything, but by making bold one-degree shifts. Cut the excuses, commit to the action, and get moving (literally).

7th House (Relationships, Partnerships, One-on-One Bonds):
⚖️ DTR season. Aries in the 7th demands clarity: Who’s in your corner? Who’s just taking up space? Maybe it’s time to have that conversation—or maybe it’s time to stop waiting and just go for what (or who) you want.

8th House (Transformation, Power, Deep Connections):
🦂 No fear, no hesitation. The battle is inner—facing fears, letting go of control, and embracing your own raw power. This is shadow work with a sword in hand. Lean into the intensity.

9th House (Expansion, Beliefs, Higher Learning):
📖 Intellectual battleground. Aries here is about fighting for your truth. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to learn, teach, or explore—this is your time. Debate. Question. Leap.

10th House (Career, Legacy, Public Image):
🚀 Go big or go home. Aries in the 10th means it’s time to take up more space. If you’ve been playing it safe in your career or waiting for permission—stop. Make the move. Say yes. Take the risk.

11th House (Community, Friends, Social Movements):
🤝 Squad goals? More like squad wars. This season, you might be stepping into leadership or re-evaluating your friendships. Who’s actually aligned with where you’re going? Who’s just in the background? Time to find (or create) your people.

12th House (Subconscious, Healing, Endings):
🌌 Fighting ghosts. Aries here can feel like an internal battle—facing what’s been lurking in your subconscious. But instead of running, you’re learning to fight for yourself rather than against yourself. This is a deeply personal, warrior’s healing arc.

From Ash's Corner

I always see the house that Aries occupies as an arena.

A gladiator colosseum, if you will.

The theme of the house tells me where the battle is happening—but Aries tells me who’s in the arena with me, helping me fight my way through.

For me, Aries lives in my 5th house—the domain of creativity, self-expression, and passion. So this season I’ll be drawing swords in the creative arena (more like scribbling my pen across the page, but you get it).

And honestly? It’s tracking so hard right now. Every single month, I’m floored by how my house placements show up in real time. Like, I’m literally in a creative expression container dedicated to healing self-censorship—🎯 the exact battle my Aries 5th house is waging.

But I’m not alone in the fight. Aries is about allies, too—the muses, mentors, and champions that push us to go all in.

So I ask myself: Who’s in the arena with me right now?

For me, it’s Florence Given, Lois Mac, and my mom—aka the woman who has enthusiastically read every single piece of writing I’ve shoved under her nose over the years.

Wish me well as I go deeper into the sticky, beating heart of my creativity to slay my dragons.

And cheers to who we’ll all become on the other side of this fierce season of fire! 🔥⚔️

Fire is unpredictable and hard to control and I find fire seasons (like Aries) to be much the same. They unfold in ways that you can't always plan for. On top of that, we we're in the spring equinox corridor (the space between the two eclipses that happen in a season) -- offering extra instability and fastballs. The best way to find your footing is to tend to the house you have Aries in and embrace the possibilities. You don't have to have it figured out. In fact, the more you strive to, the more you'll end up sabotaging any growth you might otherwise experience. Suit up, have fun, and let yourself get lost in the energy this season.

Spring Equinox Ritual & Reflection

The first day of Aries season always coincides with the Spring Equinox, a day of equal light and dark. My favorite way to ritualize this day is by opening a few windows to let in the Spring air (yes, even if it's cold) and light a candle to journal.

Reflect on what you navigated this winter (recording these thoughts in your Rhythm Almanac is a good place to keep 'em) + allow yourself to journal about what you're MOST EXCITED about right now!

Equinox energy brings life + vitality back to the land around us. Let it do the same for your spirit.

In cosmic camaraderie,

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW 🪐

WHAT’S COMING NEXT 🌛

The Sun enters Taurus on Saturday, April 19th, sending us into the Season of the Bull. Fear not, if you're needing rest after the cleansing burn and fiery breakthroughs of Aries season —Taurus season promises steady (sustainable!) growth that leaves plenty of time to rest and smell the flowers, too. Prepare for more grounded, stabilizing energy this next season!

Pluto will be going retrograde in Aquarius starting May 4th, 2025 and lasting until October 13th. We’ll have an entire issue of The Stir coming out regarding this however, be prepared to review, revisit, and reflect on themes of power and transformation – both on a personal and collective level over this period of time. Additionally, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio happening Monday, May 12th that will be a review, release, and harvesting of whatever has been growing (or festering) since November.
