Welcome to our very first State of The Sky address for 2025, the cosmic check-in you didn't know you needed.
If you're new here (hiiiii! Glad to have you!), this is a special quarterly issue of The Stir where I break down the planetary shifts shaping our lives. Whether you're making big decisions, navigating a personal transition, or just trying to get a grip on what the hell is happening —this is for you.
This astrological address will forecast into May 2025. We've had a lot of shit go down over the winter since our last State of The Sky in November 2024.
So, without further ado...let's get into it.
Pluto in Aquarius: The Fall of the Empire
There's a lot of chatter these days about Pluto. What you may know about Pluto is that it is a generational planet since it only moves signs every 29 years. This means it takes damn near 250 years in order to complete ONE cycle around the Sun, so you and I are never going to see that cycle complete itself. Which is why they also call Pluto the Planet of Empires. Pluto symbolizes death, rebirth, and power — so when Pluto returns to its natal position (aka where it was originally in a birth chart), they call this a Pluto Return.
When an empire experiences a Pluto Return (every 250 years or so), something foundational has to collapse. There’s no bypassing it, this is what Pluto does. Historically, Pluto Returns signal the rise or fall of nations, and what we’re witnessing now is the inevitable reckoning. You don’t need astrology to tell you that the U.S. is going through an existential crisis, but Pluto confirms: this is a phoenix cycle. Right now, we’re in the fire.
🔥 Things are going to get louder, wilder, and more desperate before they break
🔥 The tectonic plates of power are shifting
🔥 What rises from the ashes depends on what we do next
Unfortunately for the oligarchic techno-fascists trying to take over our government, America The Beautiful has Pluto in Aquarius — the sign of The People, forward progress, and revolution. 💁♀️ We are a nation born with “don’t tell me what to do” on our tongue (Try to tell me that that’s not exactly what the Declaration of Independence was, TRY).
Next week, I’m diving deep into what this means for us, how to stay grounded, and how we rebuild — not just as witnesses, but as active architects of what comes next according to Pluto In Aquarius. Keep your eyes on your inbox! 😘
Neptune & Saturn in Aries: Will The Battle-Ready Leaders Please Stand Up?
Neptune in Aries starting March 30, 2025
Saturn in Aries starting May 24, 2025
Neptune is also a slow roller, only changing signs once every 13 years! Which means that over the past 13 years, we’ve had Neptune serenading us with dreams of possibility, potential and sometimes delusion. Next month, our spiritual guru planet will move into fiery, bold, action-oriented Aries where it will stay for another 13 years – ushering in a wave of spiritual awakenings, collective ambition, and bold vision.
Neptune in Aries is giving serious spiritual warrior energy. Which is necessary for the times we find ourselves in BUT without strategy we’re looking at the stymied progress of chaotic idealism. If that energy doesn’t have a place to go, it can become self-destructive without a sense of direction and discipline.
This is where Saturn comes in. 🪐
Grand Daddy Saturn is the master of discipline and authority. Saturn in Aries says “cool, you want change? What’s your plan?” With Saturn and Neptune both stepping through the fires of Aries, we’re going to see a new generation of spiritual leaders stepping forward. Thought leaders, healers, creatives, visionaries — we need bold leadership that isn’t afraid to speak to the uncomfortable truths…but ones that do so with strategy and precision.
If you’ve been doing your Shadow Work, healing your wounds, and honing your wisdom—congrats, you just got drafted. We need battle-tested spiritual leaders, not just the newly “woke.”
Neptune in Aries is the dream, Saturn in Aries is the discipline to build it.
We need resilient leaders. Spiritual leaders. Leaders who understand that we don’t win by burning ourselves out—we win by being strategic, resourceful, and unwavering. If you’ve been feeling that push, if you know you’re meant to step up in a bigger way, consider this is your sign. Get disciplined. Get structured. Make your plan. Find your people.
And if you don’t know where to start? Start where you are. The small, unglamorous moments of courage matter just as much as the big ones. And take a look at what house Aries occupies for you to get more clarity on where you’ll be feeling this activation!
Uranus in Taurus: The Future of Labor
We’ve been feeling the Uranus in Taurus energy for the past 3 years and with another year left in this arena, we’ve got work to do.
Taurus is a steady, fixed sign that is known for getting shit done and because of this, typically symbolizes just that: work, labor, worth, and value. Uranus symbolizes disruption, technology, and progress (if those themes feel familiar, it’s because they are —Uranus and Aquarius share much of the same symbolism). So with Uranus in Taurus we’re confronted with the future of labor via artificial intelligence and worker’s rights.
The important thing here is that 🗣️ The future of work is being decided right now...are we letting billionaires decide for us?
This is where the battle lines are being drawn. AI. Automation. The 4-day workweek. These aren’t just buzzwords. They are pivotal crossroads we find ourselves at.
I know AI can be incredibly beneficial for humanity...but only if we are INCESSANT in our requirement of policy around it. Only if we're willing to collectively punish and shun those who seek to use it exploitatively. The Sam Altman’s of every AI startup right now keep touting about how well AI can write poetry! You can use it to streamline all of your creative work! Think of all the freetime you’ll have to stay on top of dishes and laundry!
The human response to that?
🗣️”We don’t want AI to write poetry so we can do more laundry and work—we want AI to do the laundry and work so we can write poetry!!!” And that’s the crux of it, isn’t it? Technology should serve humanity—not the other way around.
Uranus in Taurus has also inspired companies around the globe to start playing with the idea of a 4-day workweek. Billionaires, CEOs, and bought-and-paid-for politicians are sneering about its inefficiencies, how ridiculous and destructive this practice is to revenue reports and "the economy"....but regular people are seeing it for what it is: a necessary evolution. And you know what? The results are unanimous — companies are reporting the same or sometimes HIGHER productivity, better employee retention and employees report better/work life satisfaction and loyalty to companies that roll out these very humane, life-first policies.
This is the future. And we need to demand it—not beg for it, demand it.
Go ahead and take action by calling your congresspeople to demand policy protections around worker’s rights when it comes to AI usage and tell your people that you want them to back House Resolution 1332. (Check out the app 5 Calls to help you easily pinpoint and call who you need to).

If this feels like a lot to tango with, take heart! The Big Players of the Cosmos are bringing some major energy and shaping our life in big ways. Once you get a feel for them, it all starts clicking into place. One way to do that is by looking at what house each of these planets is activating for you. If Pisces is in your 4th house of home, roots, and family then Neptune in Pisces right now might be inviting you to know your ancestors or incorporate them more spiritually, as an example. QUICK TIP: It might help to write this down on paper as referencing your chart might get confusing. Write down your rising sign as this is your first house, then let the other signs follow. Ask the following questions for each of the planets and what house that lights up for you will ALSO help to connect dots:
- Pluto topples power structures and brings rebirth. Where will you see this work slowly unfold for you? What house is Aquarius to you?
- Neptune is a spiritual symbol of connectedness and depth. What area of life are you ready to start taking spiritual action within?
- Uranus disrupts our status quo -- where can we brace ourselves for this unexpected shake up? Where is Taurus for you?
- Saturn brings order and necessary discipline -- with it entering Aries soon, what house will be receiving this glow up guardian?
- Jupiter is a magnifier. What house is Gemini to you and what's getting magnified?
- Mars is an action taker -- in Cancer, where are you being encouraged to take action right now?
- Venus is a flirt -- in Aries, what house of ideas, systems, or concepts are you flirting with right now?
- Mercury is a messenger -- in Pisces, what house is trying to send you a message?
|
BOTTOM LINE: KEEP IT SIMPLE
If it feels overwhelming to connect the dots for all these planets, do the slow moving ones for now (Pluto - Saturn). These slow moving planets will help you zoom out and focus on what their energy in your life feels like. It'll give you a good baseline to compare the influence of the smaller planets later in the season.
If you need help keeping all the symbolism straight, I made a handy reference guide for this very reason! It's called the Zodiac Glossary and you can download it for free using the button below.

From Ash's Corner
Something is churning deep within me these days. I can feel the rumbles of a distant earthquake, brewing beneath the surface of my day-to-day life. It sneaks up in the random tremors: when I’m putting dishes away, when I’m out for a walk, when I’m driving to pick up my kids.
There’s a disturbance within me that’s slowly making its way to the light of day.
I’m in an active period of shadow work right now (just started with a new therapist doing IFS and somatic work—SO COOL), and I can feel my demons pulling up a chair, ready to tell me something I haven’t fully listened to before.
All I know is this: a spectacular storm is coming for me, and I am eager to greet it.
I don’t know how you feel about thunderstorms, but I’m the type of person who will cancel plans just to go home and make tea so I can sit and watch them. I want to hear the first crack of thunder, feel the pressure shift in the air, listen to the rain hammer the ground. Maybe that’s why this moment—this feeling of waiting—doesn’t scare me.
Because despite all this uncertainty, I feel an inexplicable sense of security.
As I prepare to take my teaching exam this spring, I feel more and more uncertain about where exactly I’m headed. I don’t have a five-year plan. I don’t even have a clear next step. But I know—I KNOW—the road will rise to meet me. I know my next step will always present itself. I know Spirit will always lead me in the direction I’m meant to go.
And I’m walking these days in full trust of that.
But also...it’s WEIRD!
It’s weird to not have a mapped-out destination. It’s weird to know shit is about to go down (either personally or collectively) and feel excited for it. It’s weird to be in this energetic holding pattern, just waiting for my number to be called.
But when I sit with the feeling, when I follow the tremors back to their source, I realize something…
My shadows have been knocking.
They have something to say.
Thoughts and ideas that have been gnawing on my bones and rattling the prison of my ribcage for the better part of a decade—they’re finally, finally clawing their way into the light of day.
And I know—I CAN FEEL IT—they’re ready to take up space.
Maybe that’s the earthquake I feel in the distance. Maybe that’s what’s been shaking the ground beneath me.
Or maybe something else is coming. Maybe I'm being prepared for the road ahead and my shadows are here to usher in the version of me needed to walk my path.
Either way, I feel ready.
I’ve been heeding the rest energy of winter, and I am HYPE for the ignition of Aries season next month.
What about you, Reader?
Are you going through it? Are you in a state of suspense? Transition? Hit reply and tell me, is it just me, or do you feel the ground rumbling beneath your feet, too?

The Sun enters Taurus on Saturday, April 19th, sending us into the Season of the Bull. Pluto will be going retrograde in Aquarius starting May 4th, 2025 and lasting until October 13th. We’ll have an entire issue of The Stir coming out regarding this however, be prepared to review, revisit, and reflect on themes of power and transformation – both on a personal and collective level over this period of time. Additionally, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio happening Monday, May 12th that will be a review, release, and harvesting of whatever has been growing (or festering) since November.
