YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF PRACTICAL ASTROLOGY FOR REAL LIFE
BREW #101

Every year, Libra season rolls in and the internet immediately starts yapping about balance, beauty, and being “the charming air sign that can’t make a decision.” Cute.

Pop astrology loves to paint Libra as the petty, vain, air-sign socialite...which misses the point so hard, it almost feels intentional...

Like, what better way to disarm the sign of cosmic justice than to make it sound like it only cares about matching throw pillows?

Because Libra isn’t about politeness. Yes it's about art, beauty, and love but also? It’s about justice.
And justice— real justice — isn’t fair or polite.

Let’s check the definitions, shall we?

justice: the quality of being fair and reasonable — false. life is neither fair nor reasonable. how could justice thrive in life?

justice: the administration of the law or authority in maintaining this.

There it is.
The
administration of law. The authority.

So let's just get something straight: We are our own authority. And authority needs expression to stay alive.

Our art — our expression — is the administration of that authority in real time.
It’s the reminder of your own power, and therefore, a form of justice.

Art is justice.

Not justice in the courtroom sense — the brittle kind obsessed with verdicts and winners — but the real kind. The kind that knows life isn’t fair or reasonable, so fairness was never the goal. Harmony is. Equilibrium. The cosmic correction that comes when something inside you finally says enough.

Sometimes that’s a protest.
Sometimes it’s a painting.
Sometimes it’s just the first breath you take after years of holding your tongue.

Justice is the moment your grief gets shape. When what’s been unseen or unsaid finally finds a body — in color, in rhythm, in sound, in language. The poem that clawed its way out of you was never “just expression.” It was restoration. Witness. The administration of your own authority.

You are the law of your life.
Your art is its enforcement, whether that comes out as funky outfits, artfully curated playlists, a well-plated meal, or doodles in the margins of your notebook.

It all counts!

Actually, speaking of, there's a poem that says justice is a river.

Which means that every piece of truth you release, every word you refuse to swallow, every song you sing just because your soul might implode if you don’t — that’s you letting the river run.

That's you remembering the truth of who you are and creating from that.

Welcome to Libra Season babes, we're letting it RIP. 🗡️

Libra is ruled by Venus — the Greco-Roman goddess of love, sex, beauty, art, money, and relational power dynamics.

Most of us think of this Venus when we picture her — all soft curves and feminine wiles, painted in pastel reverie. Known for being fickle, vain, and hopelessly romantic.

But we forget her origin story.

Venus was born from blood.

She rose from the Mediterranean on seafoam — the seafoam that formed when Ouranos’
castrated genitals hit the water.

So yeah. She’s not just pretty. She’s power.

Despite our collective obsession with sanitizing femininity into something sugar-sweet and reasonable, Venus reminds us that femininity is actually fierce AF, even when it comes drenched in pink.

She stands on business that all’s fair in love and war — that our passions are what drive our boldest behavior. That the best art is born from darkness, that justice is a raging river (and isn’t it interesting that both bodies of water and Lady Justice are traditionally depicted as female?), and that love might be the wildest force of them all.

And that same boldness, that same divine madness to create, live, revolt — and make it pretty — is exactly what wakes up in us all during Libra season.

This is Venus returning to our charts through the Libra archetype: balance as an art form, harmony as rebellion, and beauty as a declaration of power.

This is your personalized breakdown of where this astro energy is hitting — and how to work with it, not get worked by it.

Justice for you, me, and all of us.

It’s not passive work. It’s active, reflective, and excavating.
It’s soul-baring and intensive.

Where Libra sits in your chart shows you where you’re called to bring balance, harmony, and justice back into being — the domain of life where your soul does its justice work.

How you do it, though?
That’s the artistry.

Justice here doesn’t look like moral perfection or playing peacekeeper. It looks like restoring equilibrium, wielding your voice, and honoring the sacred contract between self and other. This is where the scales tip toward truth — and where you, in your own way, become the river that resets the world around you.

♈ Aries Rising – Artistry Through Partnership
Your artistry lives in the in-between. Expression blooms when you stop performing independence and start co-creating connection. Let your relationships be mirrors and muses, not measuring sticks.

♉ Taurus Rising – Artistry Through Rhythm
Your daily life is your masterpiece. Libra in your 6th reminds you that beauty thrives in the details — in the rituals, the order, the way you move through your work and care for your body. Let life itself become your medium.

♊ Gemini Rising – Artistry Through Play
You find balance through joy. Justice comes when you create without agenda — when you remember that you do actually have time for your hobbies and passion projects. Pleasure is your protest.

♋ Cancer Rising – Artistry Through Belonging
Your home, your heart, your lineage — that’s your canvas. Libra here asks you to craft softness, to beautify the ordinary, to make nurturing an aesthetic. Healing happens when you let domestic life feel devotional.

♌ Leo Rising – Artistry Through Language
Your words are your palette. Libra in your 3rd turns you into a composer of harmony — through speech, writing, storytelling, or conversation. Make the mundane lyrical. Speak balance into being.

♍ Virgo Rising – Artistry Through Worth
Your expression is sacred economics. Libra in your 2nd reminds you that how you value yourself is an art form. Let your worth be expressed through beauty, generosity, and aligned creation — not perfectionism.

♎ Libra Rising – Artistry Through Self
This is your renaissance moment. You are both artist and artwork. Every outfit, gesture, and decision is part of your self-portrait. Create from the inside out.

♏ Scorpio Rising – Artistry Through Release
Your canvas is the unseen. Libra in your 12th house wants you to alchemize through solitude, dreams, and mystery. Create what can’t be said. Expression here is exorcism and medicine all at once.

♐ Sagittarius Rising – Artistry Through Collective Vision
Your creativity is communal. Libra in your 11th reminds you that beauty grows when it’s shared. Build spaces where voices harmonize, not compete. Collaboration is your medium.

♑ Capricorn Rising – Artistry Through Purpose
Your legacy is your art. Libra in your 10th wants integrity and aesthetics in your impact. Let your ambition be guided by grace — let what you build feel good as well as look good.

♒ Aquarius Rising – Artistry Through Perspective
Your worldview is the brushstroke. Libra in your 9th asks you to express through philosophy, teaching, and exploration. Share what you’ve discovered with reverence and rhythm.

♓ Pisces Rising – Artistry Through Intimacy
Your art lives in the spaces between souls. Libra in your 8th invites you to express the inexpressible — desire, grief, transformation. When you reveal instead of repress, the whole world exhales.

From Ash's Corner

I often get caught in the trap of thinking that creativity isn't important.

It can wait until after the dishes are done and the laundry is put away. It can wait until tomorrow when the kids are behaving (hopefully) a little better.

And what a clever little lie that is, a convenient avoidance.

Because we both know that the dishes are never done, the laundry is the most Sisyphean task to haunt our domestic to-dos, and why the eff would I base my requirement for expression on a variable I will never be able to control??

Avoidance, indeed.

So the other thought experiment I like to clap back at myself with is this: who benefits when I fail to express the truth of my soul? What takes the place of Justice and the administration of that authority in the absence of my creative power?

In a world hellbent on keeping me distracted, dysregulated, and panicked...which way do the cosmic scales tip when I convince myself that whimsy is not itself an act of resistance? That there's no point in keeping my spark alive?

Who else is hurt by that neglected spirit? What muses weep when I convince myself that creativity is just a silly thing that I don't have time for?

The other one I hear a lot in coaching is I'm just not creative.

Excuse me?
You? Not creative???

YOU??? The unique soul with spiritual, ancestral, and tangible gifts of perspective, lived experience, and wisdom? YOU are not creative??

Same question then: who benefits from YOU saying that you're just not a creative person?? How many times have you discounted your own (CREATIVE, IT'S CREATIVE, DAMMIT!) point of view because a voice in your head said no, that doesn't count. You're not a REAL creative.

I think we both have a general idea of where that train of thought leads so instead of spiraling about it, why don't we just commit to showing up with truth and a sharpie and seeing what comes out when we try?

The river doesn’t wait for the perfect weather to run — it just moves.
So maybe it’s time we do, too.

DO YOU KNOW YOUR GIFTS?

My boi Carl Jung once said, "if you don't know who you are, the world will tell you." Meaning: if you're not secure in your identity, your gifts, and who you are to yourself, find your place in the world (and feeling good about it) becomes almost impossible.

I deeply believe that we each came to this earth with specific gifts to express — a spiritual signature that only you can live out. In business, we’d call that your Zone of Genius, but I think it’s far bigger than just commerce (though it can certainly help).

Your gifts are the indomitable part of you that cannot waver, that cannot be slain or locked away -- no matter what life throws at you.

When life feels floaty and uncertain, when you're not sure what's next (or who you even are in that equation 😭), anchoring your sense of Self in your gifts is one of the most healing perspectives you can cultivate for your momentum, clarity, and LIFE.

My Practical Woo Playdates are an open sandbox for us to do this work: to begin to identify WHAT your gifts are and WHO that makes you.

Whether you're floundering or just driven by curiosity to deepen your relationship with your inner self -- this might be perfect for you.

Keep fighting the good fight, Reader.

CURRENT ASTRO SEASON 🪐

UPCOMING BIG SKY EVENTS 🌛

WELCOME TO SCORPIO SZN BB! We're confront our fears, reclaiming our power, letting go of what's not working, and getting downright ruthless about what it is we actually deeply, secretly desire. It's sexy and daunting and also all very much on the downlow. This is behind-the-scenes work but dayum, is it a lot. If you're feeling more tired than usual, maybe give yourself a little grace. This work requires a lot of energy, even though it's not always super visible.

NEW MOON IN SCORP happening November 19th! What was going on for you around mid-April related to power dynamics, secrets, or transformation? Because whatever it was is coming to a point of maturity: either because you're celebrating that it's working well and are recommitting to the road ahead...or realizing it's not working and ready to do things different. Now is the time for intentions. Look to what house you have Scorpio in to give more shape and context to what type of intentions to set during this time.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON 🤓

QUOTE OF THE WEEK 📚

I AM IN A CREATIVE VORTEX. FRIKKEN FINALLYYYYYYYY. No updates, I'm in (secretive scorpio) hermit mode creation.
