One of the reasons I love watching Hamilton (besides the absolute banger of a soundtrack) is the tension between the characters — the contrast in how they move through the world.
You’ve got Aaron Burr, who’s cautious, calculating. He’s reserved. He follows the rules and lives according to expectation and “shoulds.”
Then you’ve got Alexander Hamilton, who comes from nothing but has this blazing drive to do the damn thing. He doesn’t wait for permission — he acts. He speaks. He moves.
And I love that juxtaposition — how these two energies clash and reflect each other. Because honestly? I see myself in both.
I’m an Aaron Burr sun with an Alexander Hamilton rising, if you will.
There’s a moment in Act II that always guts me. It’s when Burr finally admits that all his careful posturing — all his playing-it-safe and holding back — still hasn’t gotten him what he wants. He’s still not in the Room Where It Happens. And suddenly he sees that it’s Hamilton’s boldness, his truth-telling, his willingness to speak from the gut no matter the consequences… that’s what gets him a seat at the table.
That hit me hard. Because that’s been my journey.
I’ve been eldest-daughter Virgo vibes my whole life. Straight A’s, model student, all the gold stars. And you know what that got me?
Far.
But not home.
All that achievement didn’t get me any closer to myself. If anything, it pulled me further away.
What did bring me back? Embracing my Sagittarius rising. The part of me that is bold, blunt, unfiltered. The part that speaks the truth even when it’s inconvenient. Especially when it’s inconvenient. The part that says what needs to be said, even when it has relational consequences.
That’s what moved the needle for me. That’s what put me in the room.
(Side note: learning how to work with the strengths of my Big 3 — my sun, moon, and rising — has been one of the most transformational things I’ve ever done. Knowing how each piece of me works has helped me trust my own timing, communicate more clearly, and make bolder, braver choices. You can get started with your own Big 3 journey here.)
Which brings us to Pluto Retrograde.
Because this transit? Has major Room Where It Happens energy.
But let’s be clear: we’re not talking about a party room. We’re talking about the war room. The strategy chamber. The place where power gets restructured from the inside out.
So before we go pulling the ripcord and charging forward with Big Main Character Moves™, we need to pause. Get clear. Get grounded. Build the plan. Pluto Retrograde (running now through October) is your time to get the strategy right on paper — so when it is go time, you hit the ground running.
With clarity. With conviction.
And yeah — with a banger aura.
Because we’re not about to do all this inner work and then sabotage it by skipping the planning part. You with me so far?

I asked on my stories last week if you knew what a Pluto retrograde would mean for you. I got lots of responses (thank youuuuu for that!) but the most common one was:
“Am I going to be okay??? Is this a good thing?”
Because this is what we want really want —even if we don’t always say it out loud— is to know we’re going to be okay.
We want to know how to be unshakable. And that’s where Pluto comes in.
Pluto governs transformation, yes — but not the sparkly kind. Pluto governs the underworld. Fear. Power. The gritty, uncomfortable work of facing the thing you’d rather not look at…and finding yourself still standing on the other side.
That’s the real rebirth. Not glow-ups. Not reinventions. The courage to walk straight through the fire and come out changed.
That’s why I think of Pluto work as the foundation of inner strength. It invites us to return to the deepest core of ourselves — the part that doesn’t shake, even when the rest of life is going up in flames. It’s shadow work, yes. But it’s also soul anchoring.
Now: when Pluto stations retrograde (like it did just days ago), it’s not about initiating change. It’s about strategizing for it. Pluto Retrograde is a long-game reflection point — a review and recalibration of where we’ve given our power away and where we’re ready to reclaim it.
It’s the “room where it happens.” Only this time, the room isn’t a party. It’s a war room.
And who else is in that room?
🔥 Neptune just entered Aries — that’s big, emotional firestarter energy. 🪐 Saturn is also sliding into the conversation soon, asking us to get real. 🦂 And Pluto, of course, is in early Aquarius — bold, rebellious, and unafraid to disrupt systems that don’t work anymore.
All of this points to one thing: this retrograde season is about making a plan. Not charging ahead. Not proving yourself. But mapping out what a real, powerful return to self looks like — so that when the time comes to act, you move with clarity and courage, not chaos.
To start? Look at what house you have Aquarius in. That’s your personal war room and where you’ll be doing the deep, power-reclaiming work this season.

Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius: House-by-House Breakdown
Where are you being asked to confront fear in order to reclaim your power?
Think of this part of your chart as your personal “war room” — not because you’re charging into battle, but because this is where you’re being asked to do the inner work of strategic transformation.
Pluto doesn’t hand out power freely. Pluto asks for something first: that you face your fear.
That you sit with what’s uncomfortable. That you root into what’s true — not what’s polished.
This is the real work. And this retrograde (now through October) is your invitation to begin it. Not just to prepare for a single breakthrough, but to lay the groundwork for a 20-year cycle of Plutonian evolution.
Start by finding what house Aquarius rules in your chart (Whole Sign if you’re new — your rising sign is the 1st house, then count forward).
This is where your transformation begins.
♒ Aquarius in the 1st House
Your Identity & Presence This is a deep reckoning with who you think you are — and who you’ve always been underneath the roles, projections, and armor. You may be facing fears around being seen, being misunderstood, or being too much. It’s time to reclaim your power to take up space. You don’t need to shapeshift to be worthy.
♒ Aquarius in the 2nd House
Money, Value & Self-Worth Fear may show up around resources or your ability to sustain yourself. But underneath that? Pluto’s asking you to interrogate what you believe you’re worth — and why. Power returns when you stop outsourcing your value and start rooting into your own definition of wealth.
♒ Aquarius in the 3rd House
Communication & Mental Patterns Are you afraid to say what you really mean? Do you self-edit into silence? This retrograde is a call to rewire your mental loops, reclaim your voice, and own your perspective. You don’t have to argue to have power — but you do need to speak like you believe yourself.
♒ Aquarius in the 4th House
Home, Roots & Emotional Safety This hits deep — family, origin stories, inner child wounds. Pluto’s pulling you inward to ask: where have you abandoned yourself in order to be accepted? What does true emotional safety look like now? And how can you start building it — from the inside out?
♒ Aquarius in the 5th House
Creativity, Pleasure & Visibility You may be confronting fears around being seen in your joy or your creative expression. This is about reclaiming your pleasure as power — not a frivolous extra. What lights you up isn’t a distraction. It’s your lifeforce. This is your time to take it seriously.
♒ Aquarius in the 6th House
Work, Health & Daily Rhythm Fear might be showing up as burnout, rigidity, or “shoulds” around productivity. Pluto wants you to rebuild your systems on your own terms. Your daily life is where your power lives — and if it’s costing you your vitality, it’s time to re-strategize.
♒ Aquarius in the 7th House
Relationships & Power Dynamics This is the house of mirrors. Pluto is revealing where you’ve given away your power in the name of connection — or used connection as a way to control. This retrograde is about renegotiating your relational contracts and remembering that real intimacy doesn’t require shrinking.
♒ Aquarius in the 8th House
Shadows, Intimacy & Soul Contracts Welcome to the underworld. This is one of the most intense Pluto placements — and it’s also one of the most empowering. You’re being asked to face what you fear losing, what you fear revealing, and what you fear becoming. Power lives on the other side of exposure.
♒ Aquarius in the 9th House
Belief Systems & Expansion Time to confront what you believe — and why. What dogma or outdated worldviews are keeping you boxed in? Pluto is asking you to burn the rulebook and start trusting your own wisdom. You don’t need permission to evolve. Just a little courage to question.
♒ Aquarius in the 10th House
Career, Reputation & Leadership You may be reckoning with fear around failure, visibility, or being “too much.” Pluto’s inviting you to redefine success on your own terms — and lead with integrity, not performance. Your power isn’t in your title. It’s in how you choose to show up.
♒ Aquarius in the 11th House
Community, Impact & Belonging This retrograde might stir up old wounds around being misunderstood or left out. Pluto wants you to stop contorting for approval — and start reclaiming your authentic belonging. Power comes from aligning with the future you’re here to build, not the one others expect.
♒ Aquarius in the 12th House
Rest, Spirit & The Unseen You’re being invited to sit with what you’ve buried — grief, guilt, dreams deferred. This isn’t easy work, but it’s holy. Pluto wants to help you clear space in the basement of your soul so that your future has room to grow. Rest is not avoidance. It’s preparation.

From Ash's Corner
Here’s the thing about Pluto: it doesn’t deal in business quarters and it doesn’t think in weekend plans.
Pluto thinks in decades.
And most of us? We don’t.
We’re lucky if we can visualize a 5-year plan, let alone a 20–30 year horizon. (Hi, it’s me — I am she. Half the time I don’t even know what we’re eating for dinner.)
But that’s exactly why Pluto is so powerful.
Not because it forces us to see the future in crystal clarity, but because it invites us to stretch — to widen our lens. To consider the long arc of change, not just the quick win.
Every planet operates on its own timeline. And when we study them, we don’t just study archetypes — we study temporal perspectives. The speed of Mercury. The seasonal pulse of the Moon. The slow, generational churn of Pluto.
Pluto’s time horizon is generational for a reason. It’s not here to help you optimize your routine. It’s here to help you transform society. And to do that, we need more than self-help mantras and individualistic empowerment.
We need community.
Because communities can hold 20–30 year visions.
Movements can hold 20–30 year goals.
But we can’t show up for that scale of change if we don’t first get clear on our own role within it.
That’s why this retrograde is not just about personal healing—it’s about positioning.
Knowing where you stand, what you carry, and how you’re here to serve — so that when the real work comes, you’re ready.
Because no one is coming to save us.
We have to save each other.
And this — this is how we do that.
In cosmic camaraderie,
One Last Sip

WHAT’S COMING NEXT 🌛

The Sun enters Taurus on Saturday, April 19th, sending us into the Season of the Bull. Fear not, if you're needing rest after the cleansing burn and fiery breakthroughs of Aries season —Taurus season promises steady (sustainable!) growth that leaves plenty of time to rest and smell the flowers, too. Prepare for more grounded, stabilizing energy this next season!

Pluto will be going retrograde in Aquarius starting May 4th, 2025 and lasting until October 13th. We’ll have an entire issue of The Stir coming out regarding this however, be prepared to review, revisit, and reflect on themes of power and transformation – both on a personal and collective level over this period of time. Additionally, we have a Full Moon in Scorpio happening Monday, May 12th that will be a review, release, and harvesting of whatever has been growing (or festering) since November.
